UPS man came yesterday!
Yesterday the UPS man came to visit. I think it's official, I love the UPS man more than Santa! The UPS man IS our Santa. He brings photos and equipment! Yesterday, UPS Santa brought me 2 Photogenic CL500 strobes! If you don't know what those are, they are daylight balanced "hot lights" or continuous strobes. Being Photogenic is my photography strobe sponsor of choice, they will send me any strobe can that I want or need, I send them great images and people to buy their great product lol. I had a private session last week and a guy purchased a 1250DR woot! These strobes will be used in my 6week lighting class!
Either way, here's the photos of the new can. It's continuous lighting:
My buddy is always with me when I get new packages delivered:

She's not that good at product photography, sorry:

Here's some info on the Powerlight CL500

Move along, nothing to see here…
Oh man!Â
I have a drama story for the blog, no time to write it since the cat is begging for food now, but I'll be sure and share in a bit. It reinforces my whole attitude on never using another photographers images...even when I have permission lol. It's not drama between the photographer and I, but someone who I think is being a little female (a dude who has no life) and his assumption that I don't have my basis covered!
That and I have some Photogenic news to share too.
Wooooow
Ok so I've had some uber drama over the past few days. A clown of a guy I worked with tried to screw me, apparently he mistook my relaxed laid back demeanor as me being soft. His feelings are officially hurt now lol.
ANNNND...I was on OMP and looking through my sent emails. Found this one:
Wooow I was a geek back then lol.
I obsessed over this model for about two years! Never did end up shooting her lol.
Here’s Johnny!
So I'm a few days late, so what.
As promised, here's a few images showing the wonderful toys i got last week from my lighting sponsor, Photogenic!
I got a StudioMax AKC320A which is a plug in 300w strobe. An AKC320B which is a plugin AND battery powered strobe. An AKB Battery pack and the two big boys, a Photogenic 1250 and 1250DR.
Today I had a shoot with Tony and Jon, the first thing they said was "woow those modeling lights are BRIGHT" Before I would use my Photogenic PL600 and another brand for kicker lights. Today, I used all photogenic and the room was LIT ya'll! I'll post some photos of that later.
Colorado SuperShoots is currently the only photography workshop that's sponsored by Photogenic, an honor I don't take lightly!
Photogenic is in the building!
I didn't think my strobes would get here until tomorrow or wednesday at the latest. I had such a crazy weekend this past weekend that I actually forgot about them! Today I was sitting around the house chilling, fighting with my oldest when the door bell rang. We're expecting a 6x6 mom brag book for a client in my general portrait photography business and I went to the door expecting that. Boy was I surprised when it was the package from Photogenic!!
Gonna keep you on pins and needles to find out what came in the box. I told you I was sponsored and I knew what I was getting last week but didn't tell ya.
Â
Yes, I'm an ass I know this.
My buddy
I don't really like sharing much of my personal life with people, mostly because it's my personal life hah. But, my baby girl is my best buddy! I love her tons.Â
Today, I got a package in the mail *yay* and she was there to help me open it.
She kept jumping in pulling things out, I almost hit her ripping into the box, so more out of being scared than angry I yelled at her to "move honey" and she looked at me and gave me this look:
Â
Then said "Daddy, I see?"
Love my girls!
Colorado supershoot, it’s a wrap!
Hey all,
Yesterday marked the end to the first workshop of 2009. It was a good workshop I believe?
I implemented my "monitors" and they worked out great. Much thanks to Tony, Mike and Jon. You guys were awesome in controlling your groups and so far, the feed back I heard has been great. No one was thrown out, so that's always a great thing lol.
As I made my way through the rooms, everyone was laughing and having fun, and out of no where, a "friendly" competitive game ensued! It quickly became a "Now go back to your room, your team misses you" type element. Hell, I was even through out of BOTH teams' room for a minute...in MY studio! I had to go get refreshments since I had no where to go!
My old Photogenic PowerLight 600 strobe died
need to replace the flash tube. I didn't get my new sponsored Photogenic heads in time, I'm expecting them to show up tomorrow. My Powerlight 600 I got used and it still fired off well over 13k photos for me...even surviving a fall in the lake!
Here's a few photos from this weekend, I had an all day seminar/shoot today, so I'm wiped.
Talked to Ali today
Hey guys,
Â
Talked to Ali Sonoma on the phone today. She's excited to come out! I'm excited to have her out and will now start officially pushing the workshop!
Other than that, no new surprises in the mail. I'm hoping my strobes come on saturday
If not, tuesday for sure.
Just got home from Jiu Jitsu and I hurt all over. I should make fridays "Action Friday-day" what do you think?
UPS man came!
We have mad love for our UPS man. Not because he brings us goodies once a week, but because he protects our packages! He's really creative as to where he hides the stuff lol.
We werent expecting anything today (Photogenic strobes should be here early next week) but low and behold, there was a package outside the door! We are expecting client prints, but we got an email yesterday that said they were shipping today. We went outside and guess what we found?
That's right! Colorado SuperShoots sponsor Wacom tablets, sent an Intuos3 6x8 tablet over! Just in time for me to start working on my photoshop class! How awesome huh?
Â
THANK YOU WACOM!!
