Again, must be careful with lines, but every once in a while you’ll get a model who want’s to push those lines herself. In this case, it’s Kabuli for me. We had started talking in the Summer of ’10. She’s a Muslim and I figured she was wanting to live the American dream. Finally in the Fall, we got together. We set up the shoot in about three hours and she was out the very next day. She ACTUALLY showed up too!

Here’s a few nude images of Barbie. These were done in the ball chair and it’s making me miss the good ole ball chair! lol.
Lighting was simple really, just a Photogenic 24″ Silver Beauty Dish high and above. No reflectors or anything else. With two photogenic pl1250drs with Photogenic 12×36 strip boxes on the backdrop
I had been talking to Barbie off and on for about three or four years. I saw her and wanted to shoot with her. She had a unique look and from her photos, I saw she took care of herself….

More with Taylor! We shot a photo like Brittany Spears but added our own twist to it!
Taylor came back in for another session and this one was more fun than the first! I enjoy shooting people who put complete trust in me, I’ve found that when they do, we get some of the best photos possible. They aren’t as hung up on what should be, or how they feel their body works. It also helps big time when they are dancers and yoga masters lol.
I USED to tell people to show up to the studio and we’ll shoot. I was arrogant in the fact that I had said aloud: “There’s NOTHING I can’t shoot!” This of course, is ode to the hundreds of hours spend reverse-engineering photos from people I really liked. I found out soon enough, that I had the uncanny ability to copy lighting in images I saw, but failed to create my own style. Once I started to create my own style, I started interact and have fun with my clients. The one thing I didn’t do STILL, was pay attention to clothing and the person.
Final shots of Vicki from our first shoot. Also a sample preview of my shoot with my Muse and her sister.
When I shoot, I shoot fast and a lot and always keep in mind that this isn’t a job, it’s my vocation. I love what I do and my goal is to have fun! I tend to make my models laugh and have a good time, thus creating an amazing experience. I’ve said it before and will say it again; People remember the experience most. Photos second. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve worked with someone and they’ve said “He was arrogant, it kind of sucked. But we got some good pictures.” The fact they put the experience BEFORE the photos tells me that people value experience MORE than the photos.
Back in January, I went back home to Minnesota for a little bit, about a week. While out there, I did a few shoots and several one on ones. One of the guys I did a one on one with was David. David is an awesome guy with great vision and attention to detail. Here’s a few sample images of the model Vanatie shot by HyperFocused Studios.
