Models: It’s that time of year again!
Attention Models:
The first part of the year brings tons of fun and shooting your way! If you've wanted to take a shot at getting into Maxim, this is your chance. Hooters? this is your chance!
Maxim: Many models and wannabe models always say they want to get into Maxim. Sadly, Maxim is one of the most difficult magazines to get into. Why? cause the demand is so high! There ARE ways to get in, and Maxim's Home town hotties is the easiest way! "Neighborhood Knockouts" is another, but figure, according to their stats, there's over 100,000 submissions per year to get that 1/4 photo op.
Maxim (Just as Playboy) always says "You don't need professional photos for a shot" But let's be honest, you do. They want the best you they can see and sorry, but the mirror photos you had on Facebook just won't cut it. In fact, I had a model submit images to the hometown hotties and they rejected her. A month later, she submitted photos we took and was successfully entered into the competition.
Hooters: Every year, Hooters bar and grille has their calendar girl search. They take employee submissions only. The hard part is over for you, getting a job there. The next part is getting the photos. You can see the requirements here
The cool thing? This is my slow time of year, so I'm open and free to shoot! I've been published in FHM and Maxim online, so I know I have the quality. Let's be honest, magazine submission is 60% of what I do with model photography. Why? cause no one in the state of Colorado has more than me. Meaning? no one is as experienced as I at getting models published.
For those of you that are interested, I'm running a special 99.00 4 look mini shoot (2 head 2 body is what they usually ask) I am expecting to book up pretty quick, so contact me to get your session booked.
Start the booking session now by making your payment. After your payment is received, I will contact you to set up a date for your shoot.
More Carlotta Champagne
So this photo was from the day she flew in. Carlotta is AWESOME! She's coming back for my Meeting of the Masters event! This was from a one on one shoot I had with her, just me and her. We talked, laughed and had a great time and got some great images.
Every once in a while..
A photographer finds a model that challenges him. That makes him WANT to do something different, bolder and better. Paige is that model for me. She's going to be a model at my workshop, so I put her to several tests. She didn't know which tests, but I did. Here's the test:
1. Would she show up?
Yes
2. Show up on TIME?
10 minutes early
3. Did she show up with a boyfriend or friend?
No, she did her homework and researched me. Came by herself ready to work
4. Did the photos she have show her how she is today?
The photos didn't do her justice. You have to see her in real life, to understand her beauty
5. Intelligent? carry a convo? pleasant to talk to?
Is one of the "Can't wait to listen" instead of the "Can't wait to talk"
6. Face and body for modeling?
Hell yes
7. Self conscious about her looks/body?
Hell no! as long as it's in her comfort zone, she kills it.
8. Take direction well? offer own suggestions?
Check and double check
She passed with flying colors! She had ME late and fumbling lol. She showed up ready to go, LOOKING like a model..even when she wasn't modeling. Easy to talk to and knock out beautiful, the girl is the idea of a model. If I could be around maybe 15 of these, I'd be the man
Cassie II
Welp,
It's been a full 48 hours and I've not suffered any nerve damage or haven't died from the Swine Flu vaccine. Yay. Here's some more photos of Cassie from this summer. Cassie was supposed to go to a workshop, but bailed. She's not talked to me since and that's ok. She's a pretty young lady, I'd like to shoot her again maybe.

Swineflu shot, here I come!
So I'm on my way out the door to get the swineflu shot. I'm not sure how I feel on it, but the wife is preggo and I don't want to be the single cause of major sickness for the family, so I better go.
These photos are of a model at one of the one on ones in Kansas. The model was GREAT! killer body and great attitude. I want to go back to KS to shoot her and several others again lol. I'll clean up some more and post them.

More of Brandy
So I'm now home for a while, just getting ready for the baby to come, wife has me on lock down. I've started to go back to editing photos taken in the summer. I start with Brandy. Shot Brandy with my boy and we got some great images! Here's a few more from before we went to the abandoned building.
High School Seniors
As part of a PPA Super Monday class of which none of the ppa guys showed up because PPA didn't get their crap right and kept the old date and old theme, I had shooting high school seniors the way I shoot them. It was 8 hours of shooting and learning and by the end of the day, the guys were wiped out! The first four hours were of shooting, the last four was marketing and sales.
Here's some of the images I took. They just don't make seniors the way they were when I was growing up! I told one of the moms that and she said "I agree! I had to have kids before my boobs ere her size" LOL

More oldies
Here's a few oldies but goodies taken back in 2007. Leah is her name and these were shot with the Canon EOS 20D and a softbox. This was a quick shoot, with not a lot of emphasis on photography, these were for a website she was the star of. In the website world, there isn't much emphasis on photography quality, just quantity. I still go for quality AND quantity
Redemption
After my last blog entry, I've been feeling the need to redeem myself lol.
Shot of T.L. taken about two years ago when I just got my shinny new 40d. Looking at these photos makes me miss it, I think after the new year, I'm going to get a couple of 7d's. Will suck to not have the full frame of the 5d, but I'll keep my 5d
